    The YWIES Shanghai Lingang Upper Secondary Programme provides comprehensive support for students to excel in the Chinese National Curriculum, obtain excellent grades in external examinations, actively engage in school life, and ultimately secure admission to top universities worldwide. Through the integration of Yew Wah's educational philosophy and methods, we create an authentic international atmosphere and learning environment in mainland China to facilitate graduates' pursuit of further studies to top universities around the world.

    • Phase 1

      We provides a study programme across a wide range of subject areas. Within the curriculum there is a balanced mix of practical experience and theoretical knowledge.

    • Phase 2

      We offer various choices of courses. Students are able to choose the most suitable courses according to their own career planning, interests and specialties.

    • Broad Selection of Electives

      At YWIES Shanghai, students can choose subjects that help prepare them for university studies in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Studies, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Architecture, Art & Design, Music and others.

    Notes:

    1. Students will take one or two of the English courses. The course taken depends on the course best suited for the student based on their English proficiency.
    2. All students will take  & CNC Mathematics. Students who are able to extend their learning, will also take the  Additional Mathematics course.
    3. Global Perspectives is a compulsory subject for all students. For students who need more English support, they will be invited to study YWIES Global Perspectives English.
    4. Students need to study high school national curriculum compulsory subjects, including Chemistry, Physics, History and ICT in Upper Secondary Phase 1.

    Notes:

    1. Students must choose four of the above elective courses, including three examined subjects and one Subject Support class.
    2. Students must choose one Science course among Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
    3. The same subject cannot be chosen twice.

    Notes:

    1.  Students must take a Chinese subject in Students can choose either the examined  Chinese, or the internally assessed YWIES Chinese.
    2. Students must take an English subject in . Students must choose one of the three options among English as a Second Language ESL, YWIES Academic English or  International Project Qualification IPQ, unless they select English Literature.

    Notes:

    1. Students must choose 4 subjects for their first year.
    2. Students who take Chinese , will be adding a fifth subject. In some cases, following meetings with the student and their family, a student can take Chinese as their fourth  subject.
    3. Students must take at least three   subjects in their last year.
