    Art & Design Programme

YWIES Shanghai Gubei offers a programme featuring art and design with a wide selection of optional subjects. The programme is taught in English and also includes portfolio and university guidance.

The curriculum has three pathways: Art Scholar Distinction, Art Scholar and Art Scholar Intensive. These cater to students' diverse development needs. Students can choose a suitable path in Year 11 (Year 10 for Japanese track) based on their learning goals, regional preferences, and academic level to pursue their artistic dreams.

Art Scholar & Art Scholar Distinction integrate art and non - art subjects. They enhance language skills through artistic creation, facilitate professional transition for further studies, and target admission to global top 100 universities or top 30 art schools, even aiming for Ivy League schools.

Art Scholar Intensive helps students enter prestigious art schools in Singapore, Japan, the US, the UK, Europe, and Hong Kong with lower entry requirements and a reasonable fee structure.

For the Singapore, US, UK, European, and Hong Kong tracks, the program focuses on language and portfolio preparation, students' artworks serve both academic assessment and university applications, targeting Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore; top 80 - 150 universities in the US; renowned fashion schools in Italy; and universities in the UK and Hong Kong.

For the Japanese track, it combines Yew Wah diverse art advantages with Japanese study - abroad needs, covering art courses, portfolio guidance, Japanese language learning, college entrance exam prep, and study - abroad planning. It retains the holistic education feature of Yew Wah, aiming for "Tokyo Big Five" art schools (Tokyo University of the Arts, Musashino Art University, etc.) and prestigious art schools in the Kansai region (Osaka University of Arts, Kyoto University of the Arts, etc.)
